If you are overcoming an illness or adapting to a disability, our occupational therapists can support you to regain your independence. We can do this in a number of ways such as through advice, arranging special equipment or making adaptations to your home.
You may see a number of different health and social care professionals depending on your need. This includes occupational therapists, technical instructors, occupational assessment officers, rehabilitation officers, occupational therapy assistants, adaptation and loan equipment service and support staff.

- North Tyneside – duty officers are the first point of contact if you wish to refer yourself or someone else into the service. They can be contacted on 0191 643 2777.
- Northumberland – you should contact 01670 536 400 to arrange for an assessment to be carried out or to access further information about what support may be available.
If you are receiving treatment in hospital you can be referred directly to a therapist by ward staff.
If you wish to contact the service for anything other than a referral you should contact the trust on 0344 811 8111 and ask for occupational therapy at the hospital of your choice.
