Northumbria Healthcare launches WhatsApp channel for key updates

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has launched a WhatsApp channel, which will be used to provide key updates and information to patients and the public.

WhatsApp channels are a relatively new feature of the popular online messaging service, which allows people who have subscribed to receive updates from a particular organisation.

The channel will only be used to share key updates and important information with followers, such as:

  • Roadworks or other travel issues which may affect patients coming to our sites
  • Unforeseen events which impact our services, for example, telephone problems
  • Updates related to weather warnings or other incidents
  • Key public health updates or reminders
