Known for its amazing atmosphere, the Great North Run is the world’s biggest and best half marathon. Starting in Newcastle upon Tyne, the 13.1 mile route takes runners over the iconic Tyne Bridge and finishes at the South Shields seafront.

There are two ways to run for Bright:

We have a limited number of charity places available. We ask you to pay a £59 registration fee and commit to raising £200 in sponsorship. Register here.

Own place

If you’re lucky enough to have secured a place in the ballot, we would love for you to join Team Bright – you can set your own sponsorship target. Contact brightcharity@northumbria.nhs.uk

Each runner will receive

  • a complimentary professional running vest
