The NHS Big Tea – a national outpouring of love

An illustration of a kettle labelled 'NHS big tea 3pm 5th July' and pouring a rainbow.

For the NHS Birthday on 5th July, the nation will come together to raise a cuppa to our NHS heroes.

Join us for the nation’s biggest tea party and show your support for healthcare staff.

The NHS Big Tea event will raise vital funds for NHS charities across the country, including Bright Northumbria which has supported medics, patients and volunteers during the pandemic.

So on or around 5th July (or whichever day suits you best), we’re calling on our local community to come together to celebrate the NHS and raise funds which will make a difference. What a great excuse for a slice of cake and a get together!

How can you help?

Donate £5 and write a message

Hold a tea party or if you’re in the office, take 5 and have a tea break.

If you would like to raise a cup to our NHS heroes and throw your own tea party (outdoor or virtual and following Covid guidelines), please get in touch. We can provide you with a fundraising pack and would love to share your photos on social media. Alternatively, if you’re in the office why not have a tea break and raise a cuppa with colleagues?

Hospital NVS shops

If you’re in our hospitals, you can pop into our volunteer NVS shops where you will be able to purchase special cakes and Big Tea merchandise.

Most importantly however, the day will provide a chance to reflect, say thanks to our healthcare staff, join in the celebrations and raise a cuppa to the NHS.
