Junior West-Ham player has raised funds for NHS staff who continue to fight against coronavirus

Local 11-year-old, Destiny Ditchburn has donated £250 for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust’s Bright Charity as a way to thank NHS staff.

Due to the current government guidelines, Destiny has been unable to travel to continue her football training or to compete in matches. She took to running to help stay fit, and decided that it would be a great opportunity to raise money for her local hospital, the trust’s Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington.

She ran an impressive 104 miles in 6 weeks to fundraise for our staff who are working so hard against coronavirus.

Last week, Destiny presented a cheque to Debbie Whiteman, matron on the critical care unit at the Northumbria hospital, who was incredibly grateful to receive her generous donation.
