Our clinicians work in partnership with the National Institute for Health Research (NIHR) and local universities on some programmes.
We have developed a new dedicated clinical trials facility at North Tyneside General Hospital which has allowed us to make real strides in increasing the amount of research and clinical trials being offered to people accessing our services.
We have formed a unique partnership with international clinical trials provider Synexus and opened a dedicated research facility at Hexham General Hospital in 2014 The partnership is the first of its kind between a private company and the NHS and potentially showcases a new way of supporting clinical research in the UK.
