Share your passion for the NHS by becoming a Northumbria public governor
People in North Tyneside who are passionate about their local NHS are being given the opportunity to become more involved by standing for election as a public governor.
There are 10 vacancies for public governors at Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust in the area – two in North Shields, three in North West Tyneside, two in Wallsend and three in Whitley Bay – and the deadline for nominations is 5pm on Thursday 3 May.
The role of a public governor is to represent the views of local people and help build links between the trust and the many communities it serves. Duties include holding non-executive directors to account for the performance of the board, reviewing the annual accounts/ report and representing the interests of the public in governance meetings.

To be in the running to be a public governor, people must be a member of Northumbria Healthcare. This is done by completing an online application form at www.northumbria.nhs.uk/get-involved/join-our-our-foundation-trust or calling 0191 203 1296.

There are 21 vacancies for public governors across Northumberland and North Tyneside and an opportunity for people who do not live locally however have an interest in the NHS to become involved in the rest of England constituency.
