Dr Wendy Gregory
Consultant Gastroenterologist and Acute Care Physician
Dr Gregory's areas of specialty are general gastroenterology including inflammatory bowel disease and hepatobiliary medicine.
She co-provides the therapeutic gastroscopy service including ERCP (a procedure that examines the bile duct and pancreas) with Dr Bhagwat.
Dr Gregory previously acted as clinical lead for gastroenterology and she carries out a dual role between gastroenterology and acute medicine which she also specialises in.
She has been a consultant with the trust since 1999 and in 2004 started working as an acute care physician in addition to gastroenterology.
Dr Gregory qualified in 1987 and remained in the region to continue her training. She completed a PhD in liver disease as an MRC fellow in 1993. After this she worked in Sydney, Australia, for a year in the liver transplant unit.
She is also involved in undergraduate and postgraduate training in medicine and is an examiner for the Royal College of Physicians. In addition Wendy is a committee member for the Association of Physicians.
