Dr Alison F C Lee
Dr Lee initially qualified from Edinburgh University, and subsequently undertook her cardiology training on the West of Scotland rotation.
She commenced her substantive consultant appointment in April of 2002 with our trust. She created the cardiac MRI service for the trust in 2003, and has developed this service for the benefit of the local population. She commenced training in cardiac CT in 2009, and now works with Dr Dan Higham to run this service within National guidance, as the first local trust to do so. She continues to undertake an active clinical service, and has been in the top 20 consultants nationally for the past two years based on the findings of the national out-patient satisfaction survey.
Dr Lee is the Royal College of Physicians tutor for North Tyneside General Hospital, and supports the junior doctors in their training. She is extensively involved in undergraduate training at North Tyneside for Newcastle University students. Dr Lee sits on the regional committees for cardiology training and for advanced imaging and organises the North East Cardiovascular Imaging group meetings.
Dr Lee holds clinics at North Tyneside General Hospital on Monday and Friday mornings and at Blyth Community Hospital on Wednesday afternoons.
