Executive Director of Human Resources and Organisational Development
Ann Stringer has been a director of human resources and organisational development for the Trust since 2005.
After graduating from Newcastle University in sociology and social administration, she joined a large supermarket retailer on their graduate scheme as an HR trainee. Ann progressed to being regional HR manager for the North East and Cumbria before joining Rowntree Mackintosh as the training manager then site HR manager. She then moved to Findus as the site HR manager and became the UK HR director responsible for manufacturing, sales and marketing as well as the European head office.
Ann then moved to Northumbria Healthcare in 2005 and since then has worked hard to build a strong and proactive HR function, with constructive and open employee relations contributing to a steady improvement in staff survey results.
In April 2011 the Trust acquired a further 2200 staff as the result of the transfer of community staff and the work to integrate these staff and develop a new and combined culture is underway.
