If at all possible we want to help people stay out of hospital and receive any care they may need within their local community or at home.
We have lots of specialist services to provide this including community nurses, health visitors, rehabilitation services, podiatry and sexual health. You can find lots of information on all our services here.
We also provide adult social care support on behalf of Northumberland County Council if you need help to live independently at home. This includes help with day to day tasks, support to take part in social, leisure or educational activities. We also provide support to enable the family and friends who may care for you a break.
Most people have to pay a contribution towards the cost of their social care services, but would not be expected to pay more than they could afford based on their income and savings. The amount will depend on our financial circumstances.
Advice and information is available to everyone even if you aren’t eligible for funding. Please look at our section on adult social care services to see what can be arranged.
