The North Tyneside community cardiology team provide a range of services if you are suffering from coronary heart disease. This might include rehabilitation after a heart attack or heart surgery, care if you’ve had heart failure and home visits following discharge from hospital.
You can be referred into cardiac rehabilitation programmes following a heart attack, angioplasty/stent or heart surgery through your hospital doctor or GP.
You can see the community matron for heart failure services through your GP, consultant cardiologist or district nurse.

Two cardiac rehabilitation programmes are running in North Tyneside, each consisting of two sessions per week. If you are referred for cardiac rehabilitation you will be allocated to a eight week programme at either:
