The audio screening service assesses your child’s hearing and checks for any abnormalities.
All reception-age children are tested at school but if you are worried about your child’s hearing, you can also make an appointment for any child aged between four and 18 years old.
Clinics take place between 9am - 5pm at GP surgeries in Allendale, Alnwick, Blyth, Haltwhistle, Hexham, Morpeth, Ponteland and Prudhoe.
They are also available at Wansbeck General Hospital and Berwick Infirmary.
Should further investigation be needed, your GP will advise you where you can go for further tests and/or treatment.
An audio tester carries out the hearing assessment. If your child is found to have hearing loss you will be referred to your GP for guidance on the services and support available.
You can be referred to the audio screening service by your GP, health visitor, child’s school or you can contact the screening service yourself. If you would like to make an appointment please contact the hearing screening administrator on 01670 564030 or email firstname.lastname@example.org
