Shared Lives Northumberland provides support in a family home for adults who are unable to live alone because of their age or disability.
It is delivered through a partnership between Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust which manages the service on behalf of Northumberland County Council.
We provide skilled, trained and committed individuals who have been chosen by the trust to share their homes and their lives with others.
The countywide service was set up in 2000 and we now have over 40 local people who are Shared Lives carers in Northumberland. Some of whom have been carers for over 12 years.
