Have your say on healthcare in Berwick
People in Berwick are being encouraged to join a series of engagement events starting this week to hear all about plans for a new hospital in Berwick and the various health services that are available in the town.
Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust will be visiting a number of venues in Berwick and surrounding area – starting on Tuesday 23 July – to share information about the wide range of services that are available locally and to hear people’s views about hospital and community health services and their recent experiences.
People will also be able learn more about the new Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital – the first hospital of its kind in England – which is set to open, in Northumberland, in 2015.
At the engagement events, members of the public will also be able to meet their local public governors and can sign up to become a member Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust and receive regular information.
Annaluisa Wood, modern matron at Berwick Infirmary, said: “As the provider of hospital care, community health services and adult social care in Berwick, we greatly value the views of the local community.
“Our engagement team will be on hand at these events to update people about our plans for a new hospital in Berwick, but also to hear what people think about the care they receive with us.
Annaluisa added: “I would encourage anyone who is interested in hearing about the latest developments in healthcare in Berwick or who wants to share their views with us, to come along to one of these events.”
