As well as our own global charity work, the North East and North Cumbria is full of philanthropic international health activity. This is where NHS organisations share their expertise in less developed healthcare systems, often in poorer parts of the world.
Working together with the Academic Health Science Network North East and North Cumbria, Bright Northumbria has helped establish a regional network of 31 International Health Links.
In the region there are hundreds of healthcare professionals involved in these international health links, volunteering their own time to work in partnership with healthcare organisations in some of the most challenging and complex environments in the world.
By sharing their skills and expertise with their counterparts overseas and delivering a range of projects, the region’s International Health Links partnership is making a significant contribution to improving health and wellbeing both across the world and within the NHS.
