Football cup supports Berwick physio

Funds raised at Berwick Charity Football Cup have gone towards helping patients receiving physiotherapy in Berwick Infirmary.

Over the last two years, £1,000 raised at the matches has enabled various pieces of equipment to be bought for the department. This includes an oximeter which is used by patients in the lung rehabilitation class and monitors their oxygen levels to allow them to exercise safely.

The cup is run by volunteers who arrange a series of football matches during the summer with money collected going towards local good causes.

Nicola Karolewski, superintendent physiotherapist at Berwick Infirmary, said: “We would like to thank everyone involved with the charity football cup for their generous donation.

“As a trust, we always aim to provide as much care close to people’s homes as possible and this donation will help improve our patients’ experiences of having treatment with us.”
