Toys donated to the children's unit
A huge thank you to Michael Reed who has raised nearly £1,300 to buy toys and games for the children’s unit at The Northumbria hospital.
Michael, of Whitley Bay, wanted to give something back after family members had been treated on the unit (formally based at North Tyneside General Hospital).
Michael spent several months raising the money – organising a range of fundraising activities, including a walk and fundraising evening.
Staff on the ward provided Michael with a ‘wish list’ of toys and games aimed at children of all ages from babies to teenagers and Michael was able to buy everything on their list and more!
The toys will bring much comfort and joy to the children on the unit and our heartfelt thanks go to Michael and everyone involved for this generous donation.
