Thank you for supporting your local NHS

Over recent weeks, since the Covid 19 crisis began, we have been quite overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of our local communities in stepping forward to support our NHS.

From making online donations with messages of support via our JustGiving page, to people finding unique ways to fundraise – from selling art prints, knitting, and shaving beards, to completing virtual exercise challenges from their homes.

The funds raised are greatly appreciated and we are using them to support our staff and patients where needed. For example, we are supporting our health and wellbeing programme to ensure that staff, whenever possible can take a break and refresh – providing refreshments, toiletry packs and emergency clothing.

We have also been amazed by the countless offers to help – with local companies donating face masks and goggles, local schools making face visors and teachers and craft groups making scrubs and laundry bags. While we are receiving PPE supplies through the NHS supply chain these donations have been warmly appreciated.

Our staff have also been receiving many gifts from local companies who have been donating anything from pizzas, Easter eggs, to toiletries.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank everyone for their incredible support. Going forward, our staff have suggested that we share some of the food donations with local foodbanks and we will be following their wishes.

As you can imagine, our staff have been cheered and quite overwhelmed by the thoughtfulness and kindness shown over the past few weeks and this has provided a real boost to staff morale.

Once again, thank you!
