Tea party raises funds for the palliative care unit at Wansbeck hospital

A warm thank you to Linda Eldon Ramshaw who has raised over £800 for the Palliative Care Unit at Wansbeck General Hospital.

Linda held a tea party at a St Bartholomew’s Church, Newbiggin-by-the Sea to raise the funds in memory of her dear friend, Janice Wilson, who was treated in the unit earlier this year.

The money will help support the Oasis room – a much valued facility used by the relatives of patients who are nearing the end of life.

Linda said “The staff at Wansbeck hospital were wonderfully supportive of Janice in her final few weeks of ill health. I hope that the money goes some way towards helping many local families facing difficult times fighting illnesses in our region.”

Our warm thanks go to Linda and everyone involved in raising funds for the unit.
