Staff from Capita donate £1,000 to help patients with dementia
Staff from Capita’s North Tyneside office have donated £1,000 to support patients with dementia.
Each year, staff fundraise for a ‘charity of the year’ and this year chose to support ward 23 at North Tyneside General Hospital. Staff took part in a range of fundraising activities to raise the funds, including a pub quiz, raffles, cake sales and the coast to coast bike ride.
Robbie Redpath, Steven Britton and colleagues completed the coast to coast bike ride.
Robbie said: “We do the coast to coast bike ride every year to support different charities close to our heart. This year we decided to support our local hospital and wanted to do something for patients with dementia as this affects so many families.”
Ward manager Melanie Davidson said: “Our heartfelt thanks go to Robbie, Steven and their colleagues for choosing to support our ward. Many of our patients have dementia and the funds raised are going towards a special interactive reminiscence tool which will be greatly beneficial for our patients.
“Our thanks go to everyone at Capita for their generous support.”
