The sound of music comes to North Tyneside
We were delighted to launch the Music in Hospitals charity in the North East today by hosting a performance from the much sought after Andy Kain Duo in the restaurant at North Tyneside General Hospital.
The Duo, playing the accordion and violin, performed folk songs and a number of old British favourites, such as ‘Down at the Old Bull and Bush’ and ‘Daisy Bell’ to the enjoyment of lots of hospital patients, staff and visitors. The performance brought warmth, engagement, inclusivity and excellent musicianship with everyone singing along, clapping and even occasionally taking to the floor to perform with the band. The event was a great reflection of Music in Hospitals aim of bringing therapeutic benefits of professionally performed music to people living with all kinds of illness and disability.
The Andy Kain Duo perform in all kinds of healthcare settings throughout the North of England and we look forward to welcoming them back again soon.
Our thanks go to Music in Hospitals for arranging this performance and we very much look forward to working with them in future.
