Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital photography competition
With the new hospital opening only a few weeks away, arrangements are being made for a variety of artworks to be installed to enhance the hospital environment.
The trust is launching a new photography competition, open to the general public, to produce photographs which could be exhibited in the new hospital. This is a great opportunity to have your images on display in England’s first purpose-built hospital dedicated to emergency care.
Photographs from the competition will be used in key locations as a means of wayfinding, to help visitors (and staff) find their way around the hospital.
In order to appeal to a wide range of ages and different interests, the competition will be divided into five categories which you can enter, with one overall winner.
You can only submit one entry per category:
- Local scenes and landscapes
- Northumbria coastline
- Objects close up (keep people guessing!)
- Wildlife, animals and nature
- Things that make you smile
The chosen images need to be able to be enlarged to A0 size, so we will need the biggest file size possible. However, for the purposes of submission we ask that a resized copy of the image (around 500kb) should be emailed to email@example.com for judging purposes.
The closing date for the competition is midnight on 14 June 2015.
The judging panel will include award winning photographer, Ikuko Tsuchiya. The main prize will be a voucher worth £250 for photography equipment and a half day photography tutorial from Ikuko. Category winners will each receive a camera bag.
Please note that it is a condition of entry that all images submitted to the competition may be held on our database and reproduced for display within any of the trust’s hospitals or premises.
