New jobs for 30 nurses

A group of thirty newly-qualified nurses have all been given jobs on wards and departments in Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust hospitals.

The nurses completed their three-year degree and diploma courses and they will start a six-month preceptorship programme with the Trust this week.

The preceptorship programme helps nurses make the transition from university to nursing in a busy hospital.

The new recruits will work in hospitals across the Trust and for the first time new nurses have been appointed to community hospitals in Northumberland.

Debbie Reape, Deputy Director of Nursing at the Trust, said: “These nurses have been outstanding throughout their training and I am delighted that they are joining Northumbria Healthcare.

“This is such an exciting time in Northumbria with the new specialist emergency care hospital being built. This and other developments going on in the Trust will provide new opportunities for all our nursing staff in the future.”
