Help to create a special embroidery to celebrate 70 years of the NHS

Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust is inviting people to get involved in a new arts project.

The trust is holding a series of monthly workshops to create a special embroidery to celebrate 70 years of the NHS.

The workshops are led by a local artist and people of all abilities are invited to get involved. The completed artwork will be displayed at Wansbeck General Hospital later this year.

Brenda Longstaff, head of arts and patient environment at the trust, said: “We would like to mark the 70th birthday of the NHS with a dedicated artwork celebrating the rich history of our health service.

“We’d encourage local people to get involved in our monthly workshops.

“The finished embroidery will go on display in our busy outpatient clinic at Wansbeck General Hospital later this year where I’m sure it will be enjoyed by our patients, visitors and staff.”

“Come along and join us to make something really special to celebrate our amazing NHS.”

The next workshop will be held on

Thursday 20th September, from 2-4pm

at Trinity Church, Ashington, NE63 8RN
