Christmas comes early for children at North Tyneside hospital

A warm thank you to fundraiser Billy Taylor who delivered £1,000 worth of new toys to our children’s ward at North Tyneside General Hospital yesterday.

Mr Taylor, who runs WS Taylor & Sons Funeral Directors in Forest Hall, organised fundraisers at Killingworth Social Club to raise funds for the ward and the gifts were selected from a list from the nurses.

Carole Clayton, ward manager at the Children’s Ward, said: “The children on the ward are absolutely delighted to have extra toys to play with and we are extremely grateful to Mr Taylor for his fund-raising efforts.

“Being in hospital at this time of year can be difficult for children and receiving so many new toys is a fabulous early Christmas present and really makes a difference.

“They will be well used and will keep our young patients entertained throughout the year.”

Our warm thanks to everyone who contributed to this generous donation
