Blyth Community Hospital receives donation
Blyth Community Hospital has received a generous donation from the town’s local Rotary Club.
Past president of Blyth Rotary Club, Colin Watson presented a cheque for £800 to ward manager, Suzanne Burbidge at the hospital.
Colin said: “We decided, because of the incredible work in the continuing fight against coronavirus, to contribute to the NHS and due to the money being generated by our town’s residents, we wished to donate to our local hospital.
“Our donation is our way of recognising what NHS staff, at all levels, have done for the community throughout these unprecedented times.”
Suzanne said: “During this pandemic we have been overwhelmed by the generosity of our community and we would like to thank Blyth Rotary club for their donation. The money is going to go towards buying new furniture for the hospital’s garden to enable our patients to go outside when the weather is good, as well as supporting our hard-working staff’s health and wellbeing.
“We look forward to welcoming Blyth Rotatory Club back for them to see what their donation has gone towards”.
