We’re blazing a trail for National Apprenticeship Week 2019 4-8 March to raise awareness of the many opportunities that being a Northumbria apprentice can bring.

We’re proud to support the week – this year themed #BlazeATrail – and are passionate about opening up opportunities for people to join us and take their first steps on the road to a promising career with the right help and support.
We run one of the largest and most successful apprenticeship programmes in the NHS with more than 95 per cent of our apprentices gaining employment with the trust or wider NHS. It’s all part of our commitment to grow our own workforce.

In addition, our young apprentice ambassadors Natasha Scorer and Soloman Charlton will be flying the Northumbria flag at an event at the House of Commons in London on Thursday 7 March.
Our apprentices work in a variety of different roles in hospitals, in the community and in office environments, and help us to deliver first-class care to people in hospitals and in the community across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
We offer apprenticeship opportunities at level 2 and upwards, where apprentices will learn the knowledge and skills important to their role in the following areas: health and social care, business administration, estates and facilities and supplies.

If you are successful in being accepted onto our apprenticeship programmes we will provide you with full support and training. In return, we expect you to demonstrate your motivation, willingness to work, learn, and above all a caring and compassionate nature.
Every Northumbria Healthcare apprentice follows a detailed induction programme where you will learn about the trust and your role, providing high quality, patient-centred care – no matter which apprenticeship programme you are following.
During the programme, apprentices receive valuable on-the-job training, have access to a wide range of resources to help them develop and earn while they learn. On completion of the programme, apprentices will receive a formal qualification.
We also offer similar apprenticeship programmes to our existing staff.
