We’re working in collaboration with the University of Sunderland to train our nurses of the future.
Building on our strong foundations of nurse training, in partnership we’re delivering a BSc (Hons) Adult Nursing Practice, subject to approval from the Nursing and Midwifery Council.
On successful completion of the three-year course, which starts in April, people will be guaranteed an interview for a job at the trust and eligible to register with the NMC as a registered nurse (adult).
The closing date for applications is fast approaching and people interested in finding out more should contact 0191 293 4257 or email firstname.lastname@example.org by 3pm on Friday 9 March.
The course is the latest in a series of initiatives to increase the number of nurses joining us.
This includes holding recruitment events, running programmes to enable people who have previously worked as qualified nurses to return to the profession and developing even closer links with our student nurses.
However, given the workforce challenges facing the NHS and a large majority of our nurses approaching retirement, we must continue our efforts to secure our workforce for years to come.
The course will consist of a mix of theory and practice. Learning is underpinned by evidence-based practice promoting high quality, compassionate and patient-centred healthcare provision.
Entrants will be supported to relate nursing theory to clinical practice, demonstrating competence in clinical nursing.
During the course people will experience a range of clinical placements in hospitals and the community across Northumberland and North Tyneside.
