Blyth Community Hospital
General Information
Blyth Community Hospital is located in Blyth town centre, south east Northumberland. The hospital has 78 beds and 3 wards, two of which are geriatric rehabilitation and the third which is geriatric rehabilitation and palliative care.
Physiotherapy therapy clinics are held daily Monday to Friday. There is an outpatient clinic holding clinics including rheumatology, gynaecology, Parkinson's disease, cardiology, orthopaedics.
There is also an x-ray department with an ultrasound facility and a district nurse-led clinic.

By road
From the A189 Southbound. Take 1st turn off for Blyth, turn left at roundabout, continue along A193 Cowpen Rd for 2 miles. Turn left at roundabout onto Waterloo Rd, then left onto Thoroton St and carry on along the road then bear left at the health centre and the hospital is the next building along.
From the A189 Northbound. Take 2nd turn off for Blyth, turn right at roundabout, continue along A193 Cowpen Rd for 2 miles. Turn left at roundabout onto Waterloo Rd, then left onto Thoroton St and carry on along the road then bear left at the health centre and the hospital is the next building along.

Charges
Car parking is available at no charge at this hospital.
Concessionary car parking
We offer free car parking in a number of cases for patients or their visitors. This includes those receiving treatment for cancer while patients attending regularly over an extended period and visitors of long-stay patients may also be exempt. Parents of children in hospital will also receive free car parking. Please speak to the ward manager about this.
There is a dining room serving food and drinks at the following times:
- 10am-11am – pre-ordered hot sandwiches
- Midday-1.30pm – lunches including main courses, sandwiches and salads
- 3pm-4pm – hot and cold drinks with pre-ordered hot food available
Please note that the restaurant closes in between these times
A hairdresser visits the hospital every Monday and Wednesday for patients.
There is also a Patient Advice and Liaison (PALS) officer visiting the hospital once a month.
