Tissue viability service

    • Caring for patients
    • Caring for patients

Our tissue viability nurses provide advice, education and support to patients on the prevention and management of complex wounds which may have resulted from pressure sores, an accident or fall. We also offer advice on specialist equipment to prevent the development of ulcers and specialist therapies to treat wounds.

Clinics

You should talk to your GP or district nurse who can refer you to this service for treatment. The service covers Northumberland and North Tyneside.

We offer treatment at home for housebound patients, or at our complex wound clinic at the Primary Access Centre in Ashington or the leg ulcer clinic at Blyth Community Hospital.

The team

You will be seen by a tissue viability nurse who will inform your GP and district nurse of any treatment you may have.
