Older person support team

The older person support team provides specialist assessment, rehabilitation care and advice to people living in residential or nursing homes across North Tyneside. We provide treatment for a range of problems including difficulties in speaking, swallowing, moving and doing day to day activities like making a cup of tea, or brushing teeth.

We also helps people who are prone to falls or who have a neurological condition such as Alzheimers.

The team

We work closely with a variety of other health care teams within the community and also at hospitals. The team may include specialist doctors, specialist nurses, physiotherapists, psychologists, speech and language therapist, dieticians and occupational therapists.
